Vaping has become an increasingly popular quit smoking cessation aid for ex-smokers who in the past, have struggled to quit cold turkey. As a great alternative to smoking combustible cigarettes, e-cigs offer users a choice in nicotine level and the convenience of battery operation over combustion. Regardless of the brand or model of e-cig that you choose to use, these units all rely on a powerful lithium battery technology to heat the e-liquid, turning it into vapor for the user to inhale. Since disposable models come pre-charged, this blog will help you learn how to charge your vape using either the included charger unit, the USB charger, or an external battery charger.
How to charge your vape pen if it has an integrated battery
Integrated batteries typically take the form of an elongated tube or cylinder which attaches to the e-cig cartridge. To charge these types of devices, hook your vape pen up to its charger using the included USB cable. To do this, plug the AC adapter into an electrical outlet. Then, insert the large end of the USB cable into the adapter to connect to the corresponding port in your pen. Depending on the brand or model of e-cig, you may need to unscrew the battery from the cartridge. When you leave your device to charge, be sure to situate it away from flammable objects.
*Note: Always use the charger and cable that comes with your device to ensure the appropriate voltage is used. We also recommend that you don’t charge your e-cig using a laptop or mobile.
Wait for your battery to finish charging completely before disconnecting it. Depending on your brand or model of e-cig, a green indicator will turn on or the charging light will shut off completely. Just remember to not leave your battery on the charger for long periods of time once charged, as it puts added strain on the battery, which eventually diminishes its capacity.
How to charge your vape pen if it has a removable battery
Removable batteries, as the name suggests, are ones that can be taken out of e-cig devices. To charge these types of devices, open the casing of your device to access the battery. Place the battery in its external charger and plug the power cord into the wall. Once the indicator light appears, you will know that your device is charging.
*Note: While charging times vary depending on the brand or model you use, three hours is the average time that it takes to reach a full charge.
As mentioned above, wait for your battery to finish charging and be sure to not leave it on the charger longer than needed. Also, to ensure that you’re never left without, regularly check the charge level of your batteries and have extras on hand.
